Lumen West Awards 2022

Lumen West Awards are finally back in person! We are excited to announce that we won two Awards of Merit – one for the for 5670 Wilshire located in Los Angeles, and another for Amazon Frontier in Seattle.

5670 Wilshire was designed in collaboration with Rapt Studio and includes a remodeled lobby and amenity areas of a mid-century style tower located within Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile. A sculptural line of light forms a chandelier to enhance the high-end hospitality vibe of the space. Concealed lighting within knife edge coves highlights the fluted marble walls. The vibe is one of understated luxury.

Amazon Frontier (aka Amazon.com Block 18) is another Amazon project we have designed alongside Graphite Design Group. The project included 89,000 sft of multi-level amenity space, ground level streetscape, and a tranquil roof deck. This building uniquely used lighting as an illuminated cipher, leading you on a whimsical journey ascending the staircase from one space to another until reaching the serene rooftop lounge and spectacular city views.

Oculus was happy to host Jamel Williams of Rapt Studio, who was the lead designer on 5670 Wilshire. We were also delighted to sponsor student designers attending and staying overnight for the event.

We are honored to receive these two awards and are thankful to the amazing project teams, especially RAPT and Graphite Design Group for trusting us with their projects. It was great seeing everyone after a long hiatus at the cool and new Orange County Museum of Art and we look forward to celebrating at Lumen West again next year!
