Mississippi Aquarium Opening Day!
The new Mississippi Aquarium made a big splash with its recent grand opening, and Oculus is proud to have been a part of the design team for this 5.8 acre aquatic campus! Having dodged three hurricanes and being delayed due to COVID-19, the original opening date was postponed, but on the 15th anniversary of Katrina, the Governor opened the gates of the aquarium to the public.
Young and old alike scattered throughout the aquarium, exploring each nook and cranny, where they discovered cute river otters, an array of fish and rays, birds, sharks, and even crocodiles! The Governor said, “The aquarium will take Mississippi and tourism to the next level and will be a great learning experience for the state’s 450,000 school children.”
Rick Urban, VP of Animal Care & Conservation said, “As one of the newest aquariums in the country, the technology, sound, lights, and graphics are exceptional!”
Congrats to Mississippi Aquarium on the grand opening, and special thanks to PGAV and EGH for another successful collaboration!
