UGG Launches its New Flagship Store!
Just in time for winter weather, UGG recently opened its brand new flagship store located along 5th Avenue in New York City, and Oculus is pleased to have been a part of the new branding concept and design.
This approximately 13,000sf, two-story retail store includes lighting for the front-of-house spaces, VIP room, specialized product displays and cashwrap areas. The new design is meant to mirror the brand’s expansion from their iconic boot to a full lifestyle collection that the brand now offers, and its West Coast roots also provided design inspiration to incorporate warmth and approachability. From design to completion, this project only took just over a year to finish!
Senior Associate, Joel Weston, was the lead designer on the project. He says “the flagship attempts to reclaim its roots as a southern California company, featuring a curving backlit wall that encompasses the first floor, and can be viewed by passers-by on the street. Utilizing color-tunable white light, the backlit wall is designed to mimic the changing color temperatures consistent with the California skyline.”
