Block 21 Mary's Place, Seattle, WA

Located within an Amazon office tower, Mary’s Place is a 46,000sf inclusive shelter with support services for community members to assist transitioning them out of homelessness. Spread across 8 floors are private rooms and dorm-like quarters, kitchens, lounges, playrooms, counseling rooms, and offices for staff and volunteers. The lighting design successfully creates a warm, safe, and playful atmosphere throughout, using a small number of cost-effective architectural and decorative fixture types that are both functionally flexible and aesthetically pleasing.
