Athletic Propulsion Labs, Los Angeles, CA

The flagship brick-and-mortar store for the online based high-end shoe retailer is designed similar to an art gallery where the shoes, like paintings on a blank wall, create the only source of color “pop”. Located at The Grove in Los Angeles, the store is successfully illuminated via diffused backlit surfaces and concealed integral niche lighting without the use of any spotlights. Intriguing customers with its dramatic scale from the outside, the soft interior lighting creates a calming yet dramatic environment.
