Celebrating Chao-Wei Su's 5 Years at Oculus
Another 5 year anniversary here at Oculus and this time we’re celebrating Chao-Wei! Time flies when we’re having fun!
Chao-Wei started off as an entry-level designer in 2014, only a couple of years after Oculus’ inception. During his time here he has grown to be a reliable and knowledgeable lighting designer with a fair share of lighting design awards. His portfolio consists of upscale restaurants and office projects with repeated work with his many clients. One of his recent projects, Birdie G’s, has been called ‘Hottest Restaurant of the Year’ by the LA Times.
Chao-Wei has been awarded the IES Illumination Award of Merit for Creative Tech Hub; IES Award of Excellence for RDC-S111 Urban Office (Energy & Environmental Category); IES Award of Merit for RDC-S111 Urban Office (Interiors Category); and was one of IALD Enlighten America’s 2016 Emerging Lighting Designers. His favorite project thus far has been Alder & Birch, a gastropub located in the Orleans Hotel & Casino just off of the Las Vegas strip, where he enjoyed tweaking the custom decorative light fixtures so that they met the lowest light levels possible, creating a fabulous dinner-time setting.
Congratulations on all of your accomplishments Chao-Wei, and here’s to another 5 years!
