Sperry Top-Sider Gets Good Press
Our project Sperry Top-Sider was featured on the Retail Design Blog and on the cover of Retail Environments Magazine. We designed the prototype and the roll-outs for this new store redesign with our friends in Callison, based in Seattle. The store design is reminiscent of a Nantucket beach cottage with weathered finishes and nautical-inspired collections, as if handed down through generations.
With LED trackheads integrated within the beams, the architectural lighting hardware for the store takes a back seat as it manifests as illuminated merchandise in the store. Decorative lighting in the form of pendants defines the cash-wrap and the porch.
With all prototypical stores, and rollouts, it is important to keep in mind implications of the design on a larger scale, with ease of availability, cost, and applicability of the lighting design scheme to various locations both in the United States and internationally.
