Marian Gardens at Our Lady of La Vang, Garden Grove, CA

A winding linear light guides visitors through a meditative journey in Marian Gardens at Our Lady of La Vang Shrine. In each shrine, a unique lighting scheme enhances the meditative experience by complementing each shrine’s underlying narrative: a soft colorful glow greets you in the Joyous Shrine, a brightly haloed niche celebrates the Luminous Shrine, gobo projectors provide heavy shadows in the Sorrowful Shrine, and ingrade uplights draw eyes upwards as you enter the Glorious Shrine. Highlighting the architectural structure of the shrines, emphasizing the art, and providing subtle wayfinding, lighting serves as an experiential accompaniment to guide worshippers through Marian Gardens after the sun sets.
