Georgia Aquarium Suntrust Pier, Atlanta, GA

Georgia Aquarium’s Suntrust Pier 225 is home and stage to rescued and rehabilitated sea lions, and as such we set out to design lighting that would find the right balance between playful, environmentally conscious, and educational.  The tone of the show starts in the Pre-Show area, where anamatronic characters sing to the audience while precisely timed special effects lighting creates a magical, playful atmosphere that doesn’t take away from the learning opportunities while they wait.  Once seated, guests face a colorful backdrop that recreates a coastal town while warm spotlights highlight the stars of the show without being too harsh on the animals.
