RDC/Studio111 Office Receives Platinum LEED Certification
Congratulations to Studio One Eleven and RDCollaborative for recently receiving a Platinum LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Oculus Light Studio was happy to contribute by designing the offices’ sustainable and energy-efficient lighting. This is certainly a difficult feat to receive the highest of certification ratings as only 6% of LEED projects actually achieve Platinum certification!
This office has an interesting story as it had originally been a vacant Nordstrom Rack and was transformed into a vibrant 34,000+ SF creative office space with large windows and skylights, a flexible community room, an outdoor recreational patio, and many other creative and collaborative clusters.
RDC says, “The relocation of our office was predicated on the aspiration to create an open, comfortable, and collaborative work environment. The adaptive-reuse project confirms Studio One Eleven’s belief in environmentally sustainable and responsible design by implementing numerous strategies such as: engaging natural daylight, natural ventilation, lighting controls for energy conservation, low water consumption, smart material selection, and recycled indoor/outdoor green spaces.”
